About the Film Noir Foundation

filmnoirfoundation.org

The Film Noir Foundation is a non-profit public benefit corporation created by Eddie Muller in 2005 as an educational resource regarding the cultural, historical, and artistic significance of film noir as an international cinematic movement. It is the foundation’s mission to find and preserve films in danger of being lost or irreparably damaged, and to ensure that high quality prints or DCPs of these classic films remain in circulation for theatrical exhibition to future generations. Once these films are unearthed, restored and returned to circulation, the chances increase that the films will be made available on Blu-ray and/or for online streaming for future generations of film lovers to appreciate.

Since 2005, the Film Noir Foundation has saved the following films --
